School Board Meeting Monday, January 8th, 7-9pm ECASD Administration Building, 500 Main Street
INDE & Little Red Nature Campus is on the school board's agenda for Jan. 8th. The board, which heard our presentation on Dec. 18, will be voting whether or not to approve INDE to take the next steps to develop the LRNC proposal. Specifically, INDE has requested their approval to go out in the community and build partnerships with people and organizations, continue program development with the help of 40 hours of district teacher time, continue to work on estimating building renovation and other start up costs, and investigate potential funding sources. This work will be done in anticipation of applying for a federal charter grant that could provide up to $900,000 for planning and implementation of the charter school. The public is welcome to attend and provide comments during that public comment portion of the meeting.

We invite supporters to join us at the ECASD Board of Education meeting Monday evening at 7pm. INDE will present its proposal to the school board and ask its endorsement to further develop the project. We hope to receive the board’s support to do community outreach, do additional work on initial program development and budgeting, research fundraising, and prepare to apply for a federal grant (up to $900,000 for planning and implementation). There will be an opportunity for the public to provide input during the meeting. Come and show that our community values charter schools, innovative education, and more public options for students in the ECASD.
