Q: Can I (or my children) go to Anthony Acres? A: AACS is currently in its planning year, set to open its doors to its first class in September of 2020. At this time, many of the details not finalized. The information below is tentative and based on the plan described in the grant application, subject to change.
Q: What grades is AACS for? A: AACS will serve grades 6-12
Q: How many students will attend? A: AACS will enroll roughly 80-100 students.
Q: Wait, that’s very small numbers for each grade! A: That’s true. Anthony School itself is small, and AACS believes in the power of small schools for developing relationships and fostering deeper learning. Each grade will hold 13-15 students.
Q: Will the grades be mixed? A: Yes. While the details are not set, students will spend time with students in other grades constantly. Whether this is between mixing grades 6-8 and 9-12 regularly in upper and lower “houses” or simply because in such a small school all students (and teachers) will know each other, mixed age groups will be one of the great features of AACS.
Q: Who can apply? A: AACS is a new, innovative school, and we want to grow that school slowly to ensure its success. Beginning in the 2020-2021 school year, AACS will accept an incoming class of sixth and ninth graders. In both the ‘21-’22 and ‘22-’23 school years, AACS will also accept incoming sixth and ninth graders, filling the school with life and learning. Beginning in ‘23-’24, AACS will accept a new class of sixth graders each year. If you or your student will be in those grades, please consider applying.
AACS will be open to all students to apply. AACS will welcome students from Mondovi and the surrounding region. We anticipate that there may be more demand for AACS than there is space for students; in that case, admission will be by lottery. Look for the application and admission process to be up in the spring of 2020.
Q: Who can I contact for more details? A: More details will be shared as they become available via www.inde-ec.org and INDE's Facebook page. To contact us directly, use the contact form.
