The Mondovi School District is pleased to be the recipient of a Wisconsin Charter School Implementation Grant for Anthony Acres Charter School. The school is located in the heart of Buffalo county on 35 acres of woodland, prairie and creek bottom, and has the potential for agricultural production. Anthony Acres Charter School’s mission is “To use the unique resources of the Mondovi region to equip students with the academic and practical skills to contribute to the future of the area through individualized and cooperative learning, engagement with the natural environment, and building community connections.”
This school is slated to open to students grades 6-12 in the 2020-21 school year. Mondovi Public Schools is seeking the ideal candidate to lead the planning year (2019-20) to build and lead this charter school as Lead Teacher.
Job Title: Lead Teacher
We are seeking an innovative, passionate and effective Lead Teacher who will assume both administrative and instructional duties as part of the Anthony Acres staff.
The Lead Teacher will be responsible for creating a school with a comprehensive educational program utilizing project-based and place-based learning within an outdoor setting.
Planning Year Activities to include but not limited to:
Communication and coordination with Charter Governance Board and Mondovi School Board
Promote Anthony Acres and oversee student enrollment
Planning and writing curriculum
Hire, train, supervise and evaluate staff
Establish relationships with community partners
Managing materials, technology, budgets, facilities, and transportation
Ensuring compliance with State DPI, and Federal educational law requirements
Current Wisconsin DPI teaching license for the appropriate grade levels, or the ability to obtain appropriate licensure
Demonstrated success in educational leadership or coaching
Proven abilities as a self-starter and a well-developed ability to set and meet goals and outcomes
Demonstrated communication and public relations ability, including ability to work effectively and inclusively with groups and individuals of all backgrounds
Ideal Candidate will have:
Strong commitment to create the best learning culture possible for all students
Enthusiastic, positive, motivated; willing to work outside for extended periods of time in all seasons
Expertise in Project Based Learning, Place Based Environmental education, Education Outdoors, and effective integration of technology
Advanced study or degree in environmental education, technology, curriculum, administration, or other related fields.
Demonstrated success utilizing student data to drive instruction, including standards based grading and personalized learning plans
Demonstrated success in implementing and leading an innovative program, service or charter school
Knowledge and understanding of public school structure and charter school law
Experience with school business management and budgets
